Winter Sowing Workshop

Sunday, January 26, 11am-12:15pm

The weather might be getting colder outside, but gardening season is just around the corner, and *now* is the best time to start your native seedlings! In this hands-on workshop, Lachat will be teaming up with the Weston Pollinator Pathway and Advanced Master Gardener and Monarch Watch Conservation Specialist Alice Ely to teach participants how to make your own “mini-greenhouse” in a bottle to start seedlings of native plants that will attract pollinators, including monarch butterflies, to your yard.

Participants are asked to bring clear 1-liter or 2-liter soda bottles or translucent half gallon milk bottles. We’ll be sharing some special native seeds sourced right here in our ecoregion, along with potting soil.

We are grateful to the Pollinator Pathway and Alice Ely for providing this workshop at no charge to the community. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required, so please be sure to reserve your spot early and let us know if your plans change. Thank you!
