Intro to Veggie Gardening

with Wild About Veggies
March 30, 2025 - 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Spring is around the corner, and it's not too early to start thinking about your summer garden! Join us for this special workshop where you can learn everything you need to know about growing veggies at home.
At the heart of this workshop lies the art of planning a thriving vegetable garden. We will explore the intricate dance of plant companionship and seasonal rotations. We will talk about the ideal place for a vegetable garden, the basics of preparing the soil, creating a planting plan, sowing seeds for continual harvests, companion planting, succession planting and transplanting seedlings. By the end of the workshop you will be ready to sow the seeds of change and cultivate a greener and more abundant tomorrow.
Paula Koffsky and Orna Stern are avid gardeners who started “Wild About Veggies LLC” after receiving their Master Gardener’s Certificate from UCONN. They enjoy sharing their wealth of knowledge by helping other fledgling gardeners build, plant and maintain personal kitchen gardens in Fairfield County and beyond. They always welcome the opportunity to share their know-how and years of experience when the occasion arises.
