Summer CIT Program
For rising 8th graders and up!
Summer 2025
Lachat Town Farm is looking for volunteers to help support the 2025 Summer Farmhands programs. The CIT program is a great opportunity for teens to build their resumes, gain experience working with children, and help support our community. Applicants *must* be at least entering 8th grade and able to commit to 2 or more weeks during the summer (the weeks do not need to be consecutive).
CITs will have the opportunity to work with our experienced program leaders on activities including nature, wilderness skills, gardening, farm animals, art, cooking, and more. More information about weekly themes can be found on the registration pages for each program.
The ideal CIT has a love of nature and children, and a willingness to get their hands dirty! This position will involve assisting with messy art/cooking projects, gardening, visiting animals, participating in water play, exploring the farm’s expansive property, and engaging with kids in other activities. CITs should be prepared to help with setting up and cleaning up activities, and generally assisting with the program as needed. CITs will be expected to leave all electronics out of reach so they can be fully present during their time on the farm.
